Why is the rate different from what FedEx shows on their website?
FedEx retail rates are shown here as a base. When you book through TheIndiaBox, you benefit from our negotiated rates which are typically lower for regular shippers. WhatsApp us for your actual quote.
What is volumetric weight?
Carriers charge by whichever is higher — actual weight or volumetric (dimensional) weight. Formula: (L × W × H in cm) ÷ 5000. A large light box will be charged by volumetric weight even if it weighs little.
Are customs duties included in the rate?
No. Shipping rates do not include customs duty at destination. Duty depends on product type, declared value, and destination country's rules. For USA, we offer DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) — duties prepaid at booking.
Can I ship food items via FedEx or DHL?
No. FedEx, DHL and Aramex do not accept food items from India for international shipping. Food can only be shipped via India Post Speed Post (12–15 days) or Air Mail (25–35 days).
What is the cheapest way to ship from India internationally?
India Post Air Mail is cheapest (25–35 days). India Post Speed Post is mid-range (12–15 days). For express delivery in 5–8 days, FedEx and DHL are best. Aramex is 15–20% cheaper than FedEx with slightly longer transit.
